Daniel Rossen (of Department of Eagles & Grizzly Bear) is coming out with a solo EP, Silent Hour/Golden Mile. This was the first track released and it’s perfectly beautiful and haunting.. and on nights like these, that’s just how I like it. Listening on repeat.

Tokyo Police Club | All My Friends (LCD Soundsystem cover)
Over the course of 10 days, Tokyo Police Club are sharing covers of songs from the years 2001-2010 on SoundCloud, this is my favorite so far.
Need another cover Friday? Listen to their take on Kelly Clarkson’s Since You’ve Been Gone, Phoenix’s Long Distance Call and Jimmy Eat World’s Sweetness, amongst others.
I am waiting until I don’t know when Because I’m sure it’s going to happen then Time keeps creeping through the neighborhood Killing old folks, waking up babies, just like we knew it would
All the neighbors are starting up a fire Burning all the old folks, the witches, and the liars My eyes are covered by the hands of my unborn kids But my heart keeps watching through the skin of my eyelids
They say a watched pot won’t ever boil Well I closed my eyes and nothing changed Just some water getting hotter in the flames
It’s not a lover I want no more And it’s not heaven I’m pining for But there’s some spirit I used to know That’s been drowned out by the radio
They say a watched pot won’t ever boil You can’t raise a baby on motor oil Just like a seed down in the soil You’ve got to give it time
Here’s LCD Soundsystem’s final gig at Madison Square Garden from last night in it’s entirety. All three hours and a half hours of it. It’s pretty bloody incredible and has some nice little surprises in it too like a cameo from Arcade Fire.
